Common Questions

What's the best time to plant trees?+
Fall is ideal in the High Country — cooler temperatures and fall rains help roots establish before winter dormancy. Spring planting also works well. We'll advise on the best timing for your specific species.
What trees do well in the High Country?+
Many species thrive here — red oaks, sugar maples, white pines, serviceberry, dogwood, and tulip poplar are popular native choices. We also plant ornamental and non-native varieties when that's what fits your vision. We'll recommend options based on your site's conditions and your preferences.
How big are the trees you plant?+
We typically plant 1.5 to 3-inch caliper trees — large enough to make an immediate impact but small enough to transplant successfully. Smaller trees actually establish faster and often overtake larger transplants within a few years.
Do you guarantee the trees?+
We stand behind our work. If a tree we planted fails within the first year under normal conditions, we'll discuss replacement options. Proper aftercare — especially watering — is the biggest factor in success.
